Dark Roast

Solé Coffee Dark Roast is made with superior Arabica coffee beans from the dense rainforests of Central Africa, and the highest quality pure Celtic grey sea salt.  African coffee beans are naturally denser and higher in fat, which makes them more resistant to heat and perfect for a longer roast. This edgy, complex and deliciously heady blend has a velvety texture, with smokey hues of plum, anise, cinnamon, and dark chocolate.  Our Dark Roast excites the senses with its indulgently pungent, spicy aroma, and lingering finish.  It’s the ideal choice for lovers of a deep, dark espresso.

  • The pure grey sea salt in Solé Coffee comes from the coastal region of Guérande, France, where it is believed that salt has been harvested since as far back as 500 AD. 

    The salt is harvested by hand, by generations of salt farmers, known as paludiers. These highly skilled farmers use traditional tools and harvesting methods that have remained unchanged for many hundreds of years.

    During high tide, Atlantic seawater flows into clay-lined ponds beside the coast. As the water evaporates in the sun and wind, crystalized salt deposits are left behind.

  • Our artisan paludiers then begin the delicate process of harvesting the salt, using a traditional wooden rake, a skimming tool, and a steady hand.

    French paludiers preserve these ancient salt-farming techniques as metallic tools and modern farming practices would destroy the natural enzymes in the salt. These enzymes, and the mineral-rich clay bed from whence they come, are the secret to our sea salt’s unique health-enhancing properties, and distinct, delicious flavor.
